What is A2P 10DLC?
A2P 10DLC is a phone number registration process mandated by United States carriers through The Campaign Registry (TCR). Any business or individual sending outbound SMS messages to U.S. recipients must complete registration.
A2P
Application to Person
The application (Flo) sends messages to a recipient (your client).
10DLC
10 Digit Long Code
Standard local business phone numbers used for SMS messaging.
TCR
The Campaign Registry
The organization responsible for managing business messaging registration.
"The purpose of A2P registration is to reduce spam, improve message deliverability, and help carriers identify legitimate businesses."
How A2P Registration Works
Brand Registration
Businesses must verify who they are with carrier networks. This involves providing official business details, tax IDs, and contact information.
Campaign Registration
Businesses must declare what types of messages they send. This includes providing sample messages, explaining use cases, and showing opt-in proof.
Note: Registration is completed directly through your Flo Phone System Trust Center.
The Registration Process
Brand Registration
Submit business information for review. Brand approval is required before campaign review can begin.
Campaign Registration
Submit details about your SMS messaging activities, opt-in methods, and intended use cases.
Carrier Propagation
After approval, carriers require additional time to receive and distribute your registration information.
Important Notice
Even after approval, some messages may temporarily fail while carrier networks update. This is normal and can take several business days.
Registration Timelines

Toll-Free Registration

Flo Recommendation: Register a Toll-Free number first, then submit your local number registration. This often allows businesses to begin sending messages sooner.
Avoid Failures & Speed Up Approval
Flo does not participate in the approval process after submission. However, accurate and complete submissions significantly improve approval speed.
